Get a dog there much more useful. especially a Rottweiler. If he starts swimming you know it's deep.

I have been thinking for ages now that the smallest things that people invent make soooo much money. I thought what is missing from our 4x4 shelves - A depth gauge stick that, like an aerial can be lengthened and shortened but this one is more heavy duty with colour markings - green for safe and red for danger, depths would be no mods, with lift, with snorkel and then extreme. Different gauges for different vehicles.
Beats looking for and using a stick or something that isn't very actuate.

As it can be made shorter it doesn't take up much room in the cab but on extension can be just as long, maybe with a grip and a wrist strap  :?:

Saying that, now I've posted it here, Scorpian will have them online and in the mags, idea stealers !!

Surely if you're using a puddle depth gauge, then once you're measuring past arm's length you've got to wade in anyway to be able to measure any further so you're going to fill your wellies anyway?

Just a thought.

prob best as we took our staffy billing to landy show and found out she cant swim as 2 years ago it was so hot she went for a dip in the river and i had to go in after she started sinking i must have been the only one drenched on that hot day

my depth guage is so much simpler. Watch the car in front. If it stops it's too deep, if it gets through it's passable!!

look for tracks.... in and out, and not right big - probably safe....
big tracks in, none out - forget it!
ariel sticking up out of middle - someone though they saw tracks in and out.. turned out to have rained since..
