300tdi starting problems
« on: November 29, 2007, 19:54:26 »
My friend has a problem with his 300tdi, the truck came in to the
workshop with two problems 1:starting when cold and loud ticking
noise from injector pump. 2:cam belt gone!!!!
result, new short engine from turners and after what would have cost less
buying a new turn key engine and replacing all from turbo to injector pump, he still has this proplem starting when cold!
so we are thinking electrical proplem?
any ideas, is this a common problem?

we could go down the whole battery route again...

earthing, glow plugs arent usually required unless its REALLY brass monkeys... maybe a fuelling problem.. any veg oil in the tank by chance... also what happened to the old engine~?

It has been said that, given enough time, a million monkeys bashing at a million typewriters would eventually produce the complete works of Shakespeare. Thanks to the Saxo forums, we now know this to be wrong

To be fair that sounds like an injector pump problem to me. Remove it and have it professional checked.
