Temp Gauge - 200tdi in '86 90

Hi all,
I've put a Disco 200tdi in my 90. Got the old problem of the temp gauge reading too high because the 200tdi runs at a higher temperature than the old 2.5 N/A. Can anyone tell me what temp gauge is best to use because I understand you cant actually change the sender due to different thread patters??
Any help/links to the correct gauge would be great!

the land rover temp guages are very inaccurate anyway, i got a new aftermarket guage and sender to suit  for mine, i think its that tims stuff, but it is accurate, and they do senders with any threads to suit each engine.

the 200tdi doesnt run any hotter than the N/A,

however on my 90 when i converted mine to a disco tdi i fitted durite electrical temp guage with its own sender & did away with the standard guage & sender

Adaptor and transmitter, You need sender part number PRC 2505, and adapter part number ERC 8973. both Land Rover part numbers. I have just got these and gauge is spot on! This is the sender for 19j engine, and adapter to make it fit 200 TDI Disco engine.

Half a bar out??? Bloody. I/we run TIM gauges in our track cars and have found them to be really good and accurate. Maybe a "BAD" unit??

1/2 bar... is that all!!!  I've had a couple of bad'uns and sent them back to TIM (well the importers), who give them credit changed them without a problem...

However... the interesting thing is that they don't have the abilty to test them - and orignally the bloke on the phone was a bit funny, until he found out how I'd tested them!!!  (a rather expensive, fully calibrated set-up lol   )

I haven't (apart from the ones I sell   ) come across any after market boost guages that actually read correctly.  Most are passble to about 1bar, then just get completely mixed up!!!

Hi fasthands, are u sure u got that part number rite for that adaptor?.....cant seem to get it to fit  :?
