Christmas
« on: December 06, 2007, 08:35:43 »
Ok hands up who`s organised this year then ?
I`ve managed to get everything done apart from buying the fresh food.
Can`t stand the stress, panic buying and general madness that seem to take over people in December.
Started making mince pies now, made 4 dozen since last Thursday.
Just can`t keep up with the demand for them.
Oh forgot to say MERRY CHRISTMAS hope all you 4x4 lovers get all what want from the fat man with the red suit
Did somebody say MUD ?

I celebrate Christmas every year, I just don't subscribe to the commerialism.  Recognising and celebrating the one true and living God is what separates us from the animals.

I'm going to get a huge debt for Christmas. A bit like last year, and the year before!
As for being organised, no way! I'm on duty for the 5 days including the 24th, when I finish at midnight, which somewhat takes the edge off it :(
But hey, I've got some nice beers lined up for the 25th and I've got Jethro Tull's Christmas CD in the Disco. What more do I need?

How come? If you've booked it as leave, they can't make you work it, unless of course it is double time! Sweet!

I am not religious in the slightest and I find it so hypocritical to celebrate something you don't believe in. I would actually go so far as to say I find it offensive, in that it undermines the whole reason for it and could offend those who do believe. I have great respect for those who have religious beliefs and the way Christmas has become a free for all money maker is disgusting.

If it is treated as a simple family get together, then fine, but that could happen any time of the year.

We will be travelling up to the outlaws over the period, but it is only because I'd not get away with not doing it!

I concur

Dickens spoilt a damn good story when old Ebeneezer took notice of some flying sheets & chains

It was same with 'The Grinch', brilliant......... until he has the chest pains

Can't be too long before it's all banned, in case it offends someone.

I'm considering complaining about the decorations at work, saying they offend me & infringe my Human Rights not to have to see them!
