T max high lift jacks, any good?

I'd always pay the extra and get a real Hi Lift - I have no experience of teh T max ones - good or bad

I would assume the T Max ones are branded Chinese imports, but I may be wrong. I have a cheapo import one. It's not great quality, but it does what it's meant to do. But if i were to replace it, I'd look at the Hi Lift or Jackall options.

in a word NO

seen a few bent ones and the quality of the workings leave a lot to be desired

i'm a jackall man rather than high-lift but both very well made

Mine's a genuine Jackall and didn't cost much more than that (£29 ex VAT from Paddock about two years ago) - worth paying the extra to my mind. I just wish I could find a suitable shackle to go through the top of it for winching, the pins on the ones I have are all too thick.

I use the hilift brand never had any probs yet.Cost me about £53 last year..

Could you not just use a bolt on adaptor like the clamp that comes with Hi-lifts?

I've got the top clamp attachment - would that be strong enough? I was planning to just put a shackle around the jack so it jammed against the top clamp and then attach a strop to that but wasn't sure if that was safe.

Drill the top hole out slightly. You are never goign to jack onto the very top hole so it doesn't matter. Thast what I have done.

I  must admit I hate my Jackall as it collapses without warning when lowering.
It's seen little use and not abused so not neglect or damage  - just horrible.
I don't know if HiLifts are any better but I don't trust my Jackall any more after loosing the skin off the end of one finger  - it showed me that it could easilly have been the whole finger.

My genuine Hi-lift does that ......but only when it's not actually supporting any weight
can lift it up to the jacking point too (saves the need to "pump" the handle all the way)

Mine did it with the full weight of a Range Rover.
Luckilly no damage done other than my finger  :(

Mine was doing that, some oil to lubricate the pin cured it.
