I wouldn't go but the wife pitched a fit about not going after i made her sit through hitman.

Not seen it, but my 23 year old son came back and said something like: "I say Father, that latest release of cinemagraphic art was most splendifirous and entertaing to boot!"
Go and have a look at it mate!
I'm lined up to go and see the new St.Trinians film. My wife wants to go as she thinks it might be funny. I really do not want to go and see that sort of disgusting filth! Young woman dressed in schoolgirl outfits? Outrageous! I shall write to the Times about it!

Hitman is predictable but good none the less. Best viewed at the end of a long day when you're brain is in neutral. At least as good as smoking aces and shoot em up and better than beowulf similar style to equlibrium.

They were advertising St Trinians at school in one of the free poster displays we have, until pointed out that it may be slightly inappropriate to advertise over 18s dressed as school girls in a school environment!  :o

Saw the Golden Compass ... t'was alright - SWMBO loved the books which is why we were off to see it so quickly.

Saw Beowulf at the IMAX in 3D - totally awesome, immersive sound and effects. Took some getting used to at times (ducking the arrows flying out of the screen or bodies being thrown overhead).

I read the Dark Materials trilogy a few years ago and was looking forward to the film of Northern Lights.  I should have realised that something was wrong when they changed the name to The Golden Compass.  This should and could have been an epic to rival the LOTR trilogy buy instead the underlying message of the books (a veilled attack on the Catholic Church, abuse of power, etc) has been removed so as not to upset Christians in America - hope they do better with the sequels.

SWMBO is a Nurse by training, even if she's now gone to the dark side (private sector) as a Principle Consultant working as a 'Health Provision Facility Designer'

Plus, I've heard the stories from the departments chr*stmas party in Leeds on Monday evening :shock:  :shock:

Like so many good books, the story line is just way to long and complex to reproduce well in a film. The only film I am aware of that does justice to the book it came from was actually based on a short story, not a full blown novel.

To be honest I would probably enjoy it if I have already read the book, but now I would be forever questioning it.
