jus finished the head gasket but how long does it take to bed it in?? im not exactly the calmest of drivers sometimes   :twisted: an i dont really wanna be doing it every weekend  :lol: cheers

normally its a few hundred miles same as when u run a new engine in

only rev 2 2750rpm and dont tow anything heavy. all the torque will make it move easily enough

new headgasket on & if its done correctly it will be fine to drive hard from the off

as above, if youve done it properly, gun it from the start, even engines these days dont need the old fashioned running in.




apart from land rover engines that might last the running in period :lol:

Never heard of a properly fitted head gasket needing running in.

WHAT I have heard of, is retorquing the bolts after running for a few minutes/miles. Not sure if that applies to the Disco

Suzuki 8V engine is run to warm up, then retorque.

nah, for a 200tdi its 30ft/lbs then 60 degrees twice (IIRC). so you cant re torque really otherwise you would break somthing!
