Looks well, those 750s certainly look better, but a couple of things to bear in mind.

If it's a 3.9 then you need tyres that are rated to 108MPH, 'S' or 'T' IIRC otherwise they are not strictly legal.

I notice in one of the pictures that you had it on an 'A' frame, I don't know if you are aware but again these are illegal.  You can use one to recover a broken down vehicle if that vehicle is otherwise roadworthy, taxed and MOT'd etc.

I'm not in any way trying to poo-poo your new project, far from it I'm very pleased to see another convert to the comfy side of off-roading and I'd hate to see another member get into trouble for something that could be prevented with a freindly warning ;)

I have a 3.9 V8, and use 7.50Rx16. They are rated at 87mph, but as I cant afford to drive that fast, I wont exceed the rated speed, do the the tyres then have to be rated at the top speed of he vehicle?
Thanks for an interesting point,
Dave

As previously stated tyres really do need to match the original specification.  However! If you notify your insurers and they accept it you should be OK as far as they are concerned in the event of a claim.  You also need to notify them of ALL modifications; anything that has been added or removed!!!  I know there will be those that will disagree with this but I for one am not prepared to take the chance.  I notified all changes, including spot light, and my insurers had no problem with it and provided an agreed value.  It's a bit of a pain writting down all the modification but not such a pain as it would be if your insurers declined to pay (even for theft) a claim because of nondisclosure.  We pay our money and we take our choice!  Anyway, nice to see another comfortable off-roader.

With regards to the tyre rating, i run Q rated (99mph) tyres on my 3.9 v8 discovery. I told my insurers (adrian flux) and they didnt have a problem with it.I have it in writing just incase though and i would advise everyone to do the same!

Thing is I think it goes a bit further than telling your insurance company, it's also C&U regs or something like that, so it's a legal point rather than just a modification.

Yes its an Auto, and RRB is right, Construction and Use Regs, may still have a copy, will dig it out.
Not going to involve Insurance, Will get new tyres, shame really as the G90's in mud are amazing.

And perversly, becasue Blue was built as a 3.5 which IIRC should only do 100MPH then I can fit Q rated tyres, even with a 3.9 or bigger :?
