Having been married for a 'few years', I can see a couple of advantages -

On / Off switch

Mute switch

'Could' be programmed to upgrade without too much fuss

no 'In-Laws'

If you didn't like what it was wearing, instead of a lengthy 'will this do' conversation, a quick re-spray will do

I'm sure you can think of some more...........

Now, I'm not trying to defend the concept of making love to a bicycle here, however, he was doing it in private, in a locked room! Cleaners let 'emselves in, and suddenly it's a crime!

Back to the robots, I'm all for it, probably more caring and feeling than my missus! Lonely types will however be opening rather large electricity bills with hand-scribbled notes along the lines of "how come you're using so much electric in the evening sir?! we know what YOU'RE getting upto!".

I get the impression that most of the replies on this subject are from blokes and you're all presuming that the robots will be anatomically 'female'...what if they can only make 'male' ones - female ones being too complicated due to the higher intelligence of females! #-)

I want to know, will the robots be able to do anything else such as DIY, washing the car, ironing, vacuuming, cooking, cleaning...you know, all the things that men can't do. :roll: Or are they just going to be a glorified 'blow-up doll'. I wonder if they will come with interchangable parts??? :shock: Will you be able to specify height, size etc... ;)

But your observations above have made me think. A female style of robot.... interesting :-.

Robots can't get headaches
Robots can be programmed to react to our likes and dislikes
A female robot being able to wash a car.... mow the lawn.... use a drill.... climb a ladder.... clean the windows.... mend a roof.... the list can be endless :-k

This robot idea is now becoming more attractive :drool: 8-[
