steering problem

hello

on my 2000 lro 130 i have a problem with the steering, some times it is fine, but other times it is very hard to turn the steering wheel, when this happens it seems to grab then turn (sorry for not explaining it better) this happened be for Christmas and the local garage said they could not find a problem, but it is happening again.

Any ideas??

Uj's on the colum. spray one heavily with WD 40 and see if this cures it if it dosent then its the other wi'll need replacing. not the cheapest thing but worth doing them both....

V8 90 County Defender. Rebuilt with galvanised chassi and bulkhead, Tubular sports manifodls and sports pipe. Old Man Emu suspension, under axel guard. BFGoodrich Muds on Mods.

My 90 does it sometimes.


Wd40 doesnt seem to stay there very long.. Need something thicker really.

Wd 40 is just to prove that the fault is in the UJ. Just change it. there about £10 / £15 for each uj.

My uj's did this & I tapped with hammer to loosen & sprayed wd40 in to lub. Now I oil them with 3in1 oil when I remember & not had a problem since
Did everyone see that?  Because I will NOT be doing it again!

Also worth checking the PAS belt isn't slipping
