Trooper 3.1TD Duty.......
« on: January 05, 2008, 16:19:47 »
Well guys and gals.....I am now the proud owner of the above mentioned 3.1 TD Trooper...bought on Ebay for £630!!

N reg, 120 000 in silver/champagne and only 10 miles down the road....let the fun begin  :D :D :D

....but, just out of curiosity...two minor things wrong that I kinda need help with, firstly neither the radio nor the electric ariel work, is this a fuse thing? ...and secondly, the alarm kicks off every time you open the door and before you stick the key in the ignition (...from memory of a V reg one I ran, this is a problem!) is this curable apart from attacking it with a pair of sidecutters??  :-k

That was cheap

Alarm, try checking the switch on the door it could be sticking closed and when you get into the car the senors are picking movement up and activating the alarm.

Only got the car home tonight....it's blowing a gale and forecasting snow, so pulling the wheels off and investigating has been deferred for now. Hence investigating the radio/ariel thing.....frantically scanning the net for wiring diagrams.

not cheap if need the 4wd im guessing, other than that just as is a good buy as the engine is virtually worth that.
one of my 90's had that engine in, i dont think there is a better small derv engine to put in a small 4x4, much more powerfull than the landrover engines and more economical.
