...is leaking. Is this an MOT failure? Does it HAVE to be replaced?

Yes a leaky PAS is MOT failure.
You can replace the seals but may not cure the leak.
If you get a replacement buy a new item form adwest engineering not a recon from distributors!
Did everyone see that?  Because I will NOT be doing it again!

it can weap at mot standard, but at the discretion of the examiner, if this was not the case noones would pass :lol:
if its just weaping wipe it dry before you go in for the test, but if its a bad leak then it should be changed if only for your piece of mind.

May not be permanent but , this works!
Add some brake fluid to power steering bottle / reservoir, it makes seals swell a bit and stops leak, it has worked for me in the past.
