Just a warning (1.6 8v Carb) oil Switch
« on: January 08, 2008, 20:29:02 »
Just done neigh on 500 miles with NO oil in the engine.

My fault for not checking, no idea where its gone as not burning or leaking, may have just gotten that low. Anyway, oil pressure switch wasnt right and never alerted me to this fact. Corroded crimp was the cause. I should have spotted it not comming on with the ignition.

She seems to have survived, despite the monious noises, have oil pressure and no more odd noises, took close to 5 litres.

So check the light and switch, and before you drive to Norfolk, check the oil! Short the terminal to the block and the light should come on.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.
