Sounds like a pub quiz I went to a few months back - grand total of nine people in the place, the quiz had a slight hiatus between rounds as the barman was competing and had to sort out drinks orders!

Could always get the local Mud Clubbers in, see how much generalised mayhem we can cause...

Worst thing is I know full well that before I end my shift the father-"in-law" will turn up to end the evening perfectly. Probably make me hang around for hours to take him home.

Half the customers are currently playing on the gaming machine (at full volume), and the other half are talking complete rubbish.

No real need to come here ;) It's not exactly the world's most exciting place. Decent lanes round here though.

Back home now!

This weekend is supposed to be the quietest of the year statistically. Apparently a lot of people have spent a lot on Christmas and don't get paid until the end of the month. They are skint.

Oooh Rummers. I love going in there, though admittedly rarely get the chance. At least now I know who the landy belongs to though!

Richard: time off is something I would love to have, and I shall arrange some asap! I have however applied for a new job, proper 9-5 Mon-Fri council job. Doubt I'll get it, but if you don't try, you never know!

Worked there for about 6 months 3 years or so ago. I had the "wonderful" job of operating the debarker. Pick log up, put log into machine, pull lever, repeat. Extremely boring. Occasionally was given a break and went on the pointer, which was almost as boring, but not quite! Broke my finger for the first time in that place, the air was blue that afternoon!

It's good, at first. But when it's constantly like that, it does your head in!

Just got back from having a couple of pints at The Druid Inn in Goginan, now that's a lovely little pub. Lovely beer (Butty Bach, mmmm) served by a lovely barmaid, in a lovely stone-built pub.

Ponterwyd is easy to find - just follow the A44 West from Llangurig and it's the next village you come to. The pub in question is on the left just before the end of the speed limit (still westbound).

Ah [!Expletive Deleted!], once again my plans are blown out of the water. Seems things have got worse with the gf's parents and a suitably large bloke is needed as a barrier, so I am being chauffered home after my shift to act as a peacekeeper. Oh the fun.
