I have had sunroof trouble with them both leaking water in when it rains on my 98 300tdi ES, after much fiddling with them and some swearing i got them to seal only for them to leak again a few months later
Having had enough of them leaking i decided sealed for life was a better option :D
so with the front out came the trusty gaffer tape and the roof was sealed :D no problem now  and on the rear i thought the sealant gun would do the job.....or so i thought
having disconnected the electrics from them to stop the kids and the missus fiddling with them all was well for a while but it appears that a disco is (compared with other solihull products) fairly airtight and the repeated slamming of doors etc causes an air pressure spike in the car, this has the effect of trying to open the sunroofs and slowly over time a small gap appears, even with sealant and gaffer tape on them they have both opened very slightly. After the recent downpours we have had you can guess the rest i suspect  i have slightly damp carpets now at least i think they are damp under the inch or so of water
so if you go this route leave the electrics on and press close once a day as trying to get the motor to turn with an allen key manually is a right pain
right i,m off to bail out the car
