Old Cornish PO Van
« on: January 13, 2008, 17:35:49 »
Look at this beauty Morris Z van believed to be the last Morris Z PO van to leave service.  Road tax ran out in 87
The chap wants £8500 for it if you are interested
Did everyone see that?  Because I will NOT be doing it again!

A van like that is parked up near me which advertises a garage. They do look nice all done up.

That must be a right heap though I reckon.

£8500 is seriously taking the p**s .... the owner wants his flippin bumps felt. Someone should tell him that he can keep it until it is a pile of rust dust unless he gets a reality check :-k

I've got a car that was last taxed in '87 too, and I reckon it's worth a bit more than that ;)

I don't have time.  I did tax it to take it to a show last summer, then ended up taking it on a transporter anyway.  Since then I've just not had time, it needs a few little jobs doing.

Besides, we hardly had the summer for it

If I told you it only had 54,000 miles on it and used to belong to FMC themselves, would that cheer you up at all ;)

What do you mean not as nice as the Mexico, are you by any chance refering to the MkI Mex? ot the MkII.

Well I've wanted one since I was about 10, but the way prices are going and so many have been chavved up recently too....

Anyway, I have a mate who's in the trade and more of a petrolhead than me.  The car had been in Essex 'till about 4 years ago, untaxed since '87.  It then moved to the Chesterfield area, became abandoned again and changed hands for some reason, but the second of these two guys I believe was not a dyed in the wool Escort nut.

Anyway, he wanted something my mate was selling and offered up the RS as a part chop, for not enough money and promptly lost his hand.

I told my mate to buy it because it was a bargain and if he decided to sell it I'd give him what he paid with interest.

Fortunatley my mate gets bored quickly, and his idea of fast is the TVR Chimera 430HC at his mother's, so I saved up my pocket money and bought it last summer for a good price, mainly because it was in his showroom and he got sick of people with too much money wanting to buy it to re-shell a rally car they'd stuffed (once I lost my temper with one of them in the showroom in fact).

So to save it's life he let me have it for what was in my piggy bank :D

In the last 2 years it's more than doubled in value  as has my insurance premium :x

Anyway, I like them in red too, red ones are faster you know ;) but being as it's white with a factory black roof and has a similar number to that RS 2000 it turns heads, with those who know it's not a Cortina
