Slightly off the thread but to do with it, how long are Land Rover carrying on the Defender mondel? i know they keep changing the date but do we know roughly how long?

I like it actually.  With diesel at £1.10/L, if I could get a 4x4 which did 50mpg then I'd like one.  Although I wouldn't be able to afford one.

Yeah, that's what everybody said about the Disco, and then the Freelander, and then the Range Rover L322...  and you don't hear any complaints from people who drive them off road, on the contrary in fact.  How many good off road vehicles do LR have to produce before people actually give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they know what they're doing?

looks like a lifted mini... with a bit of an evil glare..

wont be in my price rane for 15years or so, but i really have problems linking "landrover" and "coupe"

sports version of a freelander (now the new frees have grown a bit!)???

would be interested to see what Bowler make of it

Well I like it.
But then again I also like the freelander 2, and would rather have the Freelander 2 in my garage than what I have now.
I currently have an Alfa Romeo in my garage.

But I do have a very well tricked up 90 on my drive.
If theres a harder way to do it I`ll find it!!

I agree! It is a Land Rover simply because it says so on the back  :D As someone in the Mini industry, we used to have this conversation regularly about the BMW MINI..... the comment 'but it's not a real Mini' was common, but the answer from me was always the same. It says MINI on the back, so what else is it? BMW could do what they liked with the name.... they owned it!

Of course, you may not like the baby Land Rover, as indeed, you may not like the Freelander, but the latter pretty much saved the company from closure. And it says Land Rover on the back!

As a car, I quite like the look of the new LR, but I wouldn't buy one.

Think the front looks nice and evil. needs a two inch lift so the grill is staring at the boy racers in the rear view mirror. but the side s look well not good. not to sure abou the backend either

I think it looks funky, of course that will date worse than say the RRC has but if it sells and it's good then hopefully it will dent LRs image as a climate criminal.  Does it really do 50mpg

The I'd have one, if I were to ever buy another new car that is.  Wonder if it will tow my caravan :?

Yeah, I quite like it too.
It looks like a cross between a BMW X3/Lexus/Audi A3.......
But, that is a VERY small rear window. There'll be middle aged housewives reversing into other cars in Sainsburys carparks all over the country!

To get anything looking new these days is a feat in itself. This looks fresh 'n' funky, a styling concept car that's actually going into production. Nice one!
