More flood pics Sutton Gault
« on: January 17, 2008, 18:35:51 »
I fancied doing a bit of wading today so before I tried the big one at Welney wash I thought I would have a go at Sutton Gault in Sutton.

But unfortunatly it was flowing to fast with the wind up I thought it be best to not go all in as it looked like the sea going across their I went in a little way but with the waves crashing onto the side of the truck and over the bonnet I did'nt want to risk going in any deeper as my little zuk would of got washed away. But I thought I would share my piccies with you.

I saw Welney was closed this morning on the BBC local news. Not too much of a surprise!

Our local ford at Bunwell was on the local breakfast news, but it was only running at about 8 inches

Can you report it as littering?

Seriously, I'm amazed anyone would just abandon it there. The water isn't that deep and you could easily tow it to higher ground.

When Rufford was at its max height, the flow was over the top of the raised walkway, you could see the rubbish hanging round the rails

Those pics were taken on that walkway, so you could imagine how high it was then these were after it had receded
