found it in lidl, thought it was pretty... but havent a clue what to do with it?

its a dragon fruit.......

asked norman the devil duck.... he didnt know either...

do you cook it? eat it whole? rub it on your naughty parts? nail it to your front door to confuse double glazing salesmen? throw it at chavs??

According to Wikipedia, it's sort of similar to kiwi fruit. Slice it in half, and eat the raw flesh inside. Fruit from a cactus apparently!

and then let us know what it taste like Ja! I keep looking at these thinking they are pretty (I am surprised you admitted to that on open forum though :D ) but I aren't forking out on one till I know they taste nice........... so come on cut it open and tell us what it's like ;)

One big one, or lots of little ones. Either that or my glasses need cleaning again.
Well.......the big pink thing is the insect, and.......the little green things are its legs. Obvious. :lol: :lol:

texture:
like a kiwi, little seeds, and generally damp...in a way that a melon is
taste:
not a great deal, but it has been bouncing round in the disco for nearly a week :lol: a bit like a lychee, but also similar (but much milder) to cactus friut (prickly pear?)

overall tolerable, would be nice in summer chilled... and possibly soaked in something alcoholic...

but i`m allergic to the [!Expletive Deleted!]!

(i`m dodgy with nuts, tomatoes, some cheese etc..)

interesting talking point tho, whip one out infront of guests, see whos brave enough to try it! :lol:

it's a bit like water with sand in, white flesh with black seeds and no taste to it.
and as said cut it in half and spoon out the inside like a kiwi.
(i worked for tesco years ago and had to try it)
