ITS A TOTal bloody nightmare mate, drilling new holes to put the new mountings in, hacking the front panel so the lights phsyically fit.

yes, its fun alright, dont get me wrong, its very doable, just loads of agro just to change the lights that are no better than the 200 type.

Contrary to Guardins comments, I have just done this.
Not too bad a job. To clear the lights in the housings I used a mallet to reshape the panel (not too much required),
Drill holes for the adjusters, grille fits straight on. Made some small brackets to fit on wings to hold under light trim and indicators fit straight in.
Job done. About 2-3 hours for first side, 1 hr second side. :D
Now looks MUCH better and lighting IS much improved. :D

Nah, aggro would be 2-3days per side. How can u say that, being an engineer and making the stuff u make. All that fiddling about, making stuff fit. Must take u ages.

WE Dont fiddle about to make stuff fit, we have it machined / lasered /cut to the correct dimensions (usually)
i spose its just a finiky job im not into doing, and as far as im concerned a waste of time, buy a 300 if you want 300 lights as they dont hardly cost anything now.

James. photos as promised.
As you can see I've had some new headlamp adjusters/supports made using M8 stud with balls on the ends. These allow the headlamp to sit further forward than std, therefore not needing to reshape the backing plate too much.
Hope they help !

i`ve seen the work envolved, and found it easier to just put up with the ones i had! ..but, i have to agree the lights are poop....

..wouldn`t excite a moth, until you go out and spend £30 on a pair of bulbs (Phillips supervision +50%)

been a proffesional yorkshireman i was in shock for a few days after spending this much on a set of bulbs, but the difference is huge. really impressed, and far easier (possibly cheaper) than the 300 route.

It has been said that, given enough time, a million monkeys bashing at a million typewriters would eventually produce the complete works of Shakespeare. Thanks to the Saxo forums, we now know this to be wrong
