Nice trucks :)

My old brigade, London, picks these up in batches and would take delivery of something like 25 or 30 a year :D

The unimogs are used mainly by the retained crews.

I'm no longer in the job and I am glad I am out

The older trucks are nowhere near as good as the new ones but I am still fond of them :) These photos bring back good memories :D

I`d just like to say what a dam good job firemen do
They don`t get enough thanks. I`m sure many people would`nt be as brave to do the job.
My dad was in the fire service for over 25 years and served in 3 different counties.
He started off as a fireman, then went on to be come a sub officer and then finally became a station officer.
I was very proud of my dad. Sadly I lost him in 1999 aged 61 I miss him dearly  :(
Did somebody say MUD ?

You're right the brigade do a great job as do all the emergency services.
from the Fire, Police, Ambulance, RNLI, Mountain Rescue, St John, Cave Rescue, Red Cross all the services either paid or voluntary.

Another fighter died last night http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/tayside_and_central/7205190.stm

turned out to be an urban search & rescue technician

thoughts go out to his family
