'Roller Skate' Range Rover
« on: January 28, 2005, 23:55:13 »
I was on the M62 this morning & leaving at my junction (31) & saw a L322 Range Rover with a set of the those ridiculously oversized wheels & (what must be about?) '45 Profile' tyres.
It was black, with wheel in that 'Black Chrome'.
It had a real 'Gangsta-Rap'/'Drug-Dealer' look to it as it headed off towards Castleford.

There was also a Discovery 3 in one of the magazines this month with the same oversized wheels on. It hit me when I saw the Range Rover what the 'over-tyred' 'D3' reminded me of;
A Suzuki Wagon R on steroids! Am I right?? :lol:  :lol:

Don't get me started on them.  Some bloke in our village has some on his car... nearly caused me to crash a couple of days back.

I'm happily driving along through the village when he appears at a side road to my left...   as he approached the junction, his wheels were still "turning" quite fast.   It was only about halfway through the instinctive evasive manouever that I realised what was going on...  bloomin spinners on his wheels   :evil:

There's a company in one of the LR mags advertising them as "The ultimate in style and luxury"

I suppose style is subjective, but 'luxury'?

ISTR they are illegal in the UK?

Possibly for just the reason Tim has just given!!!

And no .... I've not got any, or ordered any, or even looked at any.

Saw a set of spinner wheel trims on a c***y old Toyota once, laughed so much I nearly choked, the car looked ridiculous.
