Hi,
What engine are you running? If you've got either 2.5 N/A or 2.5 TD (or 2.5 Petrol) then I wouldn't bother as the engine wont be able to deliver enough power to warrent the different gear ratios that the disco T-box provides. If your running a 200tdi however then yes it is definatly worth doing, you will loose some power low down and may be changing gears more often but you'll get a much better motorway speed. I've got a disco T-box waiting to go on my 200tdi convert 90, Easter job  Off-road wont make any difference because low-range is the same gearing as the 90's T-Box.
Hope that helps
Tom

Just to add my 2 penneth, I have a RRC with 235/85 on it and I find it's over-geared.  It's uselss for towing and a bit of a pain to pull away in solo as 1st gear is so tall.
I know the TDi gets a lower 1st which makes things better but you might want to tweak the fuel pump a bit to give you back some power.

Disco Transfer box is 1.222 ratio, and a 90 is 1.410. If you fit the disco box you will raise the gearing, so more top speed, but a bit more revs to pull away. The increase in gearing is 15%.

Les.
