More tax expected.
« on: February 01, 2008, 16:10:02 »
Anyone heard how much debt our Gov't has got into   Was it 8 billion (or was it 80, neither would surprise me) and it's because they havn't been collecting enough stamp duty on account of how they've messed up the economy and houses aren't selling.

Oh, and that's a conservative estimate, if the economy slows anymore we'll be in even more debt

Labour got the country into this state last time it was allowed the controls....time for someone else to have a go on the train set!
Did everyone see that?  Because I will NOT be doing it again!

 What a surprise that is.
When Bliar became PM and Brown became chanceller, this country had a massive surplus.
Ten years of Browns "prudence" later, massive defecit.
Bliar gave up most of our EU rebate, to get the French to agree to CAP changes. Did they? did they hell. Just poured the cash down the drain.
A couple of wars of dubious legality later, added to a huge increase in overseas aid, hardly a shock to find that the country is in the state it is.
The UK can't afford this government.

This is a government who should have a surplus:

Shell have made record profits because of the Oil Price
Exxon have made record profits because of the Oil Price
Wait for BT profits Announcement:

The biggest 'extra' income for the high oil Price is to the government through the extra taxes (a lot of them are %age based) so they should have loads extra.

After all the last thing they do is use the extra to make the motorist life easier!
