Key Codes help !!!! Update
« on: February 02, 2008, 16:52:29 »
I have had a flat battery on my P38, I believe this is due to the BECM playing up. Had a flat battery yesterday so removed it to the garage and charged it for a day.
Put it back on this morning, I knew I would have to use the access key code but on this occasion it would not accept it, tried it 3 times and it locked out for the 30 minutes,, I have been through the process several tinmes now and still can't start it.

Any ideas ???? :huh:

Tried the main dealer and their suggestion was to recovery it to them and they would look at it for me !!! sorry but my funds won't stretch that far..

You should not need the EKA Code at all;

Lock and unlock on the key then put the key in the ignition to recync it.

I can't remember which does the sync but one does.

Had a flat battery again this morning. The battery is on charge and I will try again in the morning.

I have various electrical problems, from indicators staying on permenant, alarm always going off, interior lights staying on,, not to mention the door locks now on the second set..  I think its time to send the BECM off to be repaired.

I have had a flat battery before and always had to use the EKA to start it up again but never had the problem where it won't accept the code.  :'(

The garage have told me a new BECM is needed  :'(  I have told them to get it rebuilt as it is a slightly cheaper option plus they give a 2 year warranty.

They are saying it is due to the door lock being burnt out, the BECM does not go to sleep hence the flat battery, I then jump start it which then does its damage on the electronics..

Hope fully get her back tomorrow  :)
