if you get ARB air lockers ( my choice over and over again..hard to be beaten !! )
they are 4 pin diff centers  ;)

there real easy to fit, if your good with diffs
it takes me around 8 hours to fit out a lr with air lockers front and rear
that includes fitting compressor ( in owners required position
fitting the switches and loom in the owners way
removing/fitting locking cores and re fitting diffs
and piping up ect ect

Yes, Drill and tap casing. I changed the diff ratios too so had to shim up the pinion too. As Dan said easy if you know how and have done a few. I did mine my self i took my time as i wanted it spot on. Its not broke yet and i have gave them some serious abuse!

If mine are anything to go by they will tolerate being quite far out of adjustment :-.

Before you say anything they were like that when I bought them.  I've done the back already but havn't done the front yet, I fancy a change of ratio anyway.

The only mod to the stock diff casing is to drill and tap one hole, I'm told that as it's NPT the tap isn't cheap but I've not bought one.

ARB all day long though, there are other choices but no-one with ARBs ever wishes they'd bought something else.

Sorry for all the posts on diffs...

And so it rumbles on. I've heard that the V8 diff is a 4pin from standard. Is that true?

I've just bought a back axle for £80 from a '95 V8. The input shaft of the diff looks different (3 hole flange with like a cushy drive type thing) wheras mine is a solid 4 hole. I seem to remember having to swap over the flange last time, just the one big bolt in the middle so that should be OK.

Pick it up friday, should be back on the road by Saturday PM.  :)

AFAIK V8s are still a single pin (2 gears) but the rubber cush drive can be a liability.

Shame that - thought I was onto a winner there. The cushy won't be part of it as the prop is entirely different on mine. I'll be taking the diff flange off and replacing it with my old one.

Cheers RRB.

I got D44 to build up my rear ARB  :-'
Dan, before you start, it was in the salisbury axle so the diff casing had to be stretched.  :joker:  :pirate:

Aren't the Disco2 axles 4pin too??  8-[
Did everyone see that?  Because I will NOT be doing it again!
