my disco is sagging

hi all ive got a disco 200tdi as in the picture, its got a 3" scorpion suspension lift but i noticed the other day the front passenger side looks like its droped about an inch, does anyone have any ideas as i no mechanic, i no the basics but alittle help could be good, thanks

broken spring or i'd have a good look at all the body mounts see iff there not coroded away ?.hopefully not. alan.....

hi il check the spring, i dont think it will be a body mount, as its not long had a 2"body lift, and i keep them clean as there easy to get to now and it pass an mot not long ago, ta

hi, ive just been out and had a check the mounts are rock solid and the spring looks fine gave it a good shake and didnt see anything wrong, confused. lol

thats scorpion racing springs for you mate, there not very good. my dad had the same problem with his as did many people i spoke to.

Hello Robert, as you know we are both in the same boat here, although mine's a different story. I stayed well clear of scorpion parts as I have heard very many bad reports, I'm not knocking the company I just didn't want to do the job twice.

If worst comes to worse I know a company that will test you spring if you need to have any come back on the supplier regarding defective products.

Maybe the other side will droop aswell and at least that 'should' level it out.

You could measure a fixed point on the front of the  chassis and try the other side and try to see if it is leaning, if everything is level then it's the body that's dropped mine has badly :(

as somehas already pointed out check all mounts including the springs seat mounts as i found out on mine they do rust through and the the spring will twist slightly

my 200 TDi has the same problem but on the off side rear???? i was told to add a spacer on to it and it sorted it!!

no mate, that is because alot of springs are handed. springs are usually longer on the right hand side so they dont sag when the drivers in the car. get someone to sit in it and it should vevel itself out.

this is a problem i`ve seen... but in a lot of discos... seems some "dress to the left" and some the right...

mines odd, it varies!

i put mine down to uneven overnight parking, and the fact that 90% of the rotspots (sills, crossmember etc) have been replaced over time, and chances are the body wont be mm for mm as it left the factory!

One thing that no ones suggested yet ............ check the shocks.

If it's sagging at the front, it might be a shock thats gone, even a rear one - giving the impression of a 'sag' on the front.

i would disagree, if parked up, the shocker would simply return to its normal extension, as the weight of the vehicle is carried on the springs, and unless the shocker was too short, and had become detached, wouldnt really make a difference in posture....

i could be wrong tho (it has been known!)

ha! landrovers are anything but square! and i still think that its people have bought handed springs, some (like my dad) put them on the wrong way and it saggs super bad to the right :lol:
