Jimny lifting springs from KAP
« on: February 09, 2008, 10:32:28 »
Hi there,

I've got a Jimny with a 3" lift on the standard KAP lifting springs but my cars got a winch so I've been and purchased a set of front winch springs from KAP. When I took them to the local garage to be fitted they reckon the winch ones are exactly the same as whats on! Does anyone know a way of telling the difference without fitting them and seeing how it sits?

Steve.

If you know someone local with the right kit to test the 'stiffness' of the springs. The winch ones ought to be stiffer. Your best bet (and cheaper) would be a set of spring spacers from bits fo vits.

I've already bought the new springs I just wondered if there was any way to check before I get them fitted.

Cheers anyway

Steve.

If your looking for a local group to go laning etc with - check out www.ncgl.org we meet once a month for an informal chat, but also have a full calender of laning trips, pay n play events and Marshalling for the Howling Wolf challenge events. Already have 3 Jimny's in the club.
