hi people, i was off roading the other day and i when down a bomb hole and got winched back out off there but i was leaving my engine run when getting pulled back out, steep bank aswell,  also done a mud run aswell but about 20 min's after my jeep engine noise went louder and started to black smoke, so i took it home and i have now changed the fuel filter air filter, also i was then told it was a turbo so when out and bought a new turbo, put that on today and all still the same, also flushed the intercooler rad clean

any ideas what it can be please

back smokes when i rev it, hard or soft but harder the rev more smoke, also when i drive it i can see the black smoke in my rear view mirror, it dont cover the street in black smoke just by my boot and window

the engines got louder and i can here the tappets nockin a little bit, but its not the tappets thats making the rumble noise,

not sure if it lack's power as i can realy tell, seems a litte lack off power on the hill but it may just be me thinking  that

please help,  :( :( :(

if its a 2.5 then the timing belt could have jumped a tooth, best get it checked out, you may need a new belt and tensioner.

hope its a cheap fix ;)

Pop the hose off the IC, if you have got crud in there it may be blocked. Look for mud and crap in the hose. Have seen a disco that split the hose and then inhaled a load of mud, was like angel delight in the intercooler :)

I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

black smoke= fuel unburnt diesel
so start there
have you been running it on cooking oil?
could be a injector blocked or diesel pump could be knacked
