I checked the Job car before I left the nik, Luckily the roads were dry.

I got a can of baked beans out my kitchen cupboard and they were near enough frozen inside too. Yes my kitchen cupboards do get that cold and the floor is even colder. I have a very thick rug on my kitchen floor! As you say, too bleeding cold!

Cold???

This aint cold....

-25 in the Arctic circle in November, now that was cold...

and we were living in shelters built from chritsmas trees....

The fish we caught for our tea were hung from a branch and had frozen solid in less than the 15 minutes it took us to prepare the cooking area and the Veg...I managed to slice my finger whilst chopping some pork and it didn't bleed til I warmed up three days later!

I know, theres always one

It was a bit white over here this morning.
Up at 07:00 to let Dogs out & brew Tea

By 11:00, the Mondeo was still white-over, it stands in a shadow in the drive.

Chucked wifes bike (& 'Small-Childs' too) in the 110, as we were going to Pontefract Race-Course for a ride round the stewards/ambulance/camera car track (2miles, 125 yards - soI'm led to believe)

The 110 has been standing outside unmoved, unstarted, since last Sunday (when I drove to Greetland to do a Cyclo-Cross)
Therefore I was slightly uncertain whether it'd start - given the past few days early morning temperatures.

Need I worry??
It was 'On The Button'
Scraping all the windows clear was another story

However
Going out in the morning at 05:00 will be a 'rude awakening', as I've got to go back to work for 2 early shifts!!!
That's not on, after been off since finishing on Tuesday 29th January :P

Then...
I've got Wed, Thurs & Fri off.
Got to work Sat/Sun on earlies
Then I go eventually back to work - after a few more days off - on Wednesday 5th March

My battery died this morning, it must be cold!

Replaced it as it's a few years old and not showing any signs of life on the charger. Got very little warning though - just tried to fire it up for the first time in a week and no go.

Been cold here last few days suns out but the breeze has been biting, was still today had coffee sat on the patio at 10.00 this morning quite warm. Have to go get a load of logs tomorrow before we run out and the rain starts, nothing like a cozy log burner on a cold night  :)

I remember once when I was on night patrol in the wilds of Norfolk, and we had to do a blue light run from one side of the County to the other, most of it in freezing fog. We couldn't work out what the stange 'thrumming' noise was coming from the roof, until we stopped and saw that and edge of ice over two inches thick had built up on the radio aerials, and that had caused them to oscilate (nice word!) causing the noise. Most odd!

It was certainly damn cold this morning. The fog froze around my leccy ariel and it wouldn't go down again.  the windscreen took me at least 5 minutes to scrape of with both hands on the scraper.

However.

The scenes with the trees full of white etc all day was just breathe taking (in more ways than one!! ) It was like loads of scenes from Xmas cards. Beutiful. :D
