Help with sils / boot floor
« on: February 18, 2008, 18:25:40 »
OK so the disco we brought has a crusty sill (aint looked at t'other side yet - but assuming the worst) so my question is
A- are the panels available 'over the counter' if so how much and whats the quality/fit like?
B- what grade/thickness of steel should i use if I can pursuade someone tomake some for me?
C- in either case how long should It take to do 1 side?? (best and worst case)

And also if the boot floor has suffered -how hard a job is it to replace? (  seen panels for about £50)

The outer sill looks like £42.50 + VAT from Paddocks. I don't think it's a huge job if all goes well and you don't find loads more rot in the process  I don't think you could get them made for that money.

best to chop floor and sills of and see what they like the floor on my i had to cut back to wheel arches
to get all rot and rust out and then make up channels to fix floor panel to,the sills i think are easier on a 5door but i depends weatyer you nead to do inner and outer sills and what you got to weld to as a small hole
will get bigger as you grind it but you might get away with patching them i left sill covers of and covered with hammerrite
to help them last longer hope you get it sorted :)
