"Have you seen you street ruined by unnecessary sets of traffic lights and signs, Is a metal forest growing near your home?? What massive amounts of energy is wasted on the lights where in reality the old T junction was fine?? Yes some Traffic lights and signs are needed but many are not and are targets for vandals. They then cost the tax payer a fortune to replace."

Nothing Like the signs that STAY ALERT on the approach to an Island but there presents actually blocks the view of the traffic which you are needing to stay alert for.

Agreed, I don't doubt that a lot of signs are needed, but I think a lot are a pain in the backside as with traffic lights. Asda in Grantham is a example of a total nightmare, it was fine once then the made it over complicated and keep digging it up every 2 weeks.

Whats worse is when the sign you want can't be seen because the bushes round it haven't been cut for years
I think visability is much more important than another sign so I will be signing ...
However I did get sidetracked by a few other petitions and I signed 2.
Jeremy clarkson for Prime minister .
and don't let the goverment stop us driving old cars.
Both very worthey causes

Define unecessary, these days if there isn't a sign warning numpties about a potential hazard then it won't be their fault if they drive into it.
Perhaps some folks should have a warning that reads "caution, you are a berk, don't drive unless you have to" stuck inside their windscreens.

Well If you go to Newark on the A17 in Coddington is the entrance to a new estate and an open bit of ground, there are loads of signs indicating a foot paths a cycle paths, road direction, and so on, most of these if necessary could be painted on the path.
As I said not all signs and lights are needed, where I work they put in a new set of traffic light and a pedestrian crossing 100 yards from an existing crossing.
IMHO There are lots of traffic light systems that are more trouble than they are worth, how about a roundabout instead??? or leave it as a T junction.
Everyone will have different opinions some will think yep these lights are needed some will think they are not needed, so the definition if unnecessary is personal to you and your thoughts.
