Headlight troubles - main beam
«
on:

Hello again, just a quicky if anyone can help. I'm having the following problems:
Main Beam and Full Beam do not work.
Flash works, ie full beam flash,
Rear Fog light does not work anymore
Has anyone else experienced these probs? I have checked the fuse box but nothing has blown, is there a relay anywhere that could cause this? Or maybe a bad earth?
A different problem is also a drain on the battery overnight, this may be related if I have a poor earth but maybe not.
Anyone else experienced this?

I've now put relays on my headlights for both high and low beams because of the problems with the contacts on the stalk switch getting hot and sometimes melting.

Probably best to fit relays to the headlights, they'l be brighter too.

Hi matey, I was just anout to post the same question...This has just happend to me now...I have sidelights, and I think a dim normal beam...I can use the flasher unit ok, but when I put the stalk forward to main beam, nothing happens..I have checked all the fuses and can not find a relay...Any ideas or do you think its the stalk....They were working fine yesterday, then I stopped off to get some diesel and when I put the lights on again, I only had side lights.....
Please help.

Just an update fellas, I removed the steering wheel today, and the plastic surrond, checked the lighting stalk and guess what...There was a broken wire on it, it had come unsoldered from the contact...So off I went to B & Q and £14 later I have a new soldering iron and jobs a good un...I have lights again...Thanks peeps.
