Thats nothing...Let me tell you a story thats become a legend amonst traffic officers...Not sure if it true, but here goes...There were two opposing shifts on a force based in the south of england and they set a competition to see how far they could drive on a shift. Photos were taken over the months or towns in the UK, some in wales and some in as far as scotland :shock:However one day the competition was won when the two officers produced a photo of then stood at the Eiffel tower, holding a French daily paper in full uniform next to their car!No not sure if it true, but makes for a good urban legend!

I heard a version of that where two Night Duty CID teams, one from the Met and the other from the City of London have a bet to see how far they can get on a nightshift. The C of L team thought they had it in the bag until the Met called up saying they had got to Paris. What the omitted to tell was that they had had a prang on the Paris ring road!I was told that by an ex C of L DC, who would neither confirm or deny he was on the team involved in the bet.Going back to the Welsh lads, all I can say is 'silly [!Expletive Deleted!]'. If they had coughed to what they were doing, they may have got away with a disciplinary charge. Trying to lie their way out of it is tantamount to putting a gun to your head and pulling the trigger.
