what engines can i put in my sj413

hiya all just want to know of any engines that i can put in my sj 413 that will marry up to my gearbox with little or no bodging

i have heard u can put a suzuki swift gti 1.3 engine in the suzuki sjs! as i own a sj myself i currently have a 1.3 samurai angine in it but in a few months i want to put a swift gti engine in because no doubt i will blow the 1.3 sammy engine up :-$ :-o
if it wont go through MAKE it go through!! :D:D

The Swift engine and the later 413 engine are  the same engine block and should just bolt into place. The difference is in the head and the distributor feed etc. which means it will foul the bulkhead.

There is little or nothing to be gained from putting a 1.3 Swift engine in. Yes the Swift is the same engine but in a higher state of tune and this puts the power at the high end of the rev range and you want low speed torque for offroading.

You would be better off looking at a different engine such as a 1.6 Vitara or Diesel engine

I put vit 8 valve 1.6 engine in 1.3 sj, and I have heard you can put many of the vauxhall engines in, including 1.7 diesel and 2.0 litre twin cam 16valve cavaleir engine in.
Food for thought.
