Can you see what it is yet?
« on: March 06, 2008, 09:45:52 »
On a lighter note to all the politics........... For those of you out there that call your vehicle your "Beast", this is a pic of the inside of one of my club members vehicles engine bay.

So - first clue.......... They ain't Kenlow fans

Second clue.........   The vehicle was built with under body protection as standard

Third clue.............  It will make your vehicle look economical

That's all for now, I am sure someone will guess anyway.

Now I know my I'm getting old cos my memory is  failing. I know I've seen that before and it's military but is it a Stalwart (my favoured guess) or Chieftain?

C'mon put me out of my misery

I'm guessing a tank of some sort, look like a twin engine anyway.

Centurion Mk 13 MBT  :D

Lee, go to the top of the class.

This is the Centurion belonging to one of our shooting club members.  This is inside the engine bay which houses a Roll-Royce Meteor engine (which I believe is similar to the Merlin engine used in the Spitfire).

It is an awesome piece of kit and sounds like a Tank rather than those weird "surround sound" exhausts that are on the Chieftain (not sure what is on the Challenger).  We had the Centurion in our Armoured Engineer unit in Germany, and this and the Stalwart sounded superb.

If I can get some more pictures of the beast in all its glory I will do - but when this was taken it was workshop as Melvin was working on the clutch.

I am away for a couple of weeks now (oohhh looking forward to the sun) so I will check the post when I get back

Regards

Mick
