BENEFIT cheats.......
« on: March 07, 2008, 13:28:25 »
Why do so many people use their kids as a way of claiming benefits , the lazy sods should get of their rumps and work like the rest of us ....This benefit culture we live in has to stop................Don't ask whats making me rant as some people might get offended , never claimed a penny in my life and proud of it..

Nothing wrong with claiming certain benefits but what gets my goat is my neighbour has`nt worked for nearly 2 years. They have 4 kids and I`ve found out his wife does`nt work either. Now they live in a rented house which I`m sure their getting help with. They manage to tax, insure and drive round in a car. They both smoke and drink ! So ask yourself who is paying for all this ? I`ll tell you who, all us people who work our hands to the bone.  Ok rant over

<sigh>

I hate paying Tax, in fact I hate it to the extent that I get to pay a <insert swearword> lot and it annoys me to see people bucking the system to get my money. What galls me the most is that if I was ever to become unemployed I am not liable for *ANY* help (despite my payments) because my wife works too. So the only way we would ever have a chance of claiming is if we both managed to get sacked together and the kids were not working *OR* we "split up" and have 2 of everything in the house - I mean HOW DUMB are these stupid laws :(

As I've always maintained - if you are a law-abiding average person, nothing is in your favour as far as the "state" goes.

well as a housewife - with a husband that works.. we claim child family tax credits..but we also had a child in the midle of being diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) so are awaiting the joy of claiming Disability living allowance , and maybe even Carers allowance.....
A lot of people are entitled to claim, BUT a lot dont because they are NOT told they can...The system is designed that if you dont ask you dont get...rather than being told what you can claim...a loophole a lot of people exploit (the ones that use a stick for the 1 time a year they have to be assessed for disability   )

You know my favourite part??? There is a couple in our local pub, both well known for not having worked a day in oh, ten years? They both claim incapacity benefits, yet they are able to do pretty much as they want. Come inspection day, they limp a bit, moan a bit, and that's it. They have been "grassed" several times, but somehow fooled the inspectors. They live in a council house, he drives an 05 A4, she drives a 55 Octavia, and they still have the cheek to tell me that I don't belong here, that all us foreigners are here stealing their jobs, yadda, yadda, yadda.
They have now been barred for life. You see, the landlord knows where I work, and how hard, and pointed out to them that were it not for me and the other 20 odd million idiots paying our taxes and NI, them two wouldn't be able to afford the drink, fags, cars and housing they get, and that maybe half the rest of the pub have a more righteous claim to benefits, yet they don't claim them, prefering to work for their money.

Obviously, they didn't like being called cheats in the face, so they got lippy with the landlord. That might have looked like a good idea in their twisted minds, but not so good when all the patronage (including 3 friendly beat bobbies) invited them politely to abandon the premises, and stop being a pair of derrieres for the night. Clever as they are, they decided to pick on me, along the lines of "Bloody foreigner, ruining our country, etc, etc,. That got them the (oh so well deserved) ban.

If they genuinely deserve it, they can have as much as they need out of my (and your) taxes. If, on the other hand, they are cheating the system, a bit of forced labour until they repay all they syphoned would get my vote. With a bit of cat'o'nine'tails for good fortune.

Lets not forget Maggies army, when they closed all the mines there wasn't much left but benefits,it's not all Labours fault,Labour though have not done much about sorting it  as things don't improve, there all to frightened of upsetting  somebody, the current system has got nothing to do with the original welfare state.

The difficulty comes with the benefit system doesn't encourage people back to work. My stepdaughter has 2 young children and wants to get back to work. There was a job going in my department which pays reasonably well - £12k but when she went to to the job centre to speak to their lone parent advisor she was told that she would be £10 a week better off BUT because she would be working she would have to pay full rent, Council tax etc and would in effect be around £50 per month worse off.

So, the question is, stay on benefits and have some money for shopping or get a job and be worse off? And no she doesn't smoke, she doesn't go out unless we babysit (not often) and we bought her car and insured it (she passed her test a couple of weeks back)

All I can say is if you know someone is cheating the system, report them. You are not being a 'grass', more like a responsible member of society.
From experience, if they are screwing the system for benefits, they are breaking the law somehere else. Don't forget that Al Capone was banged up for tax evasion.

Both my sister and I (with our respective partners) have had to wait quite a long time to be in the position where we feel we can afford children, so it infurates me how much tax I pay to keep other people's kids when I can't afford my own.

That's the problem, that they have been reported (the "grass" was their description of the incident, they made sure everyone in the pub heard them) but somehow they get away with it.

These people have NO self respect,   BUT its the ones who make their kids suffer by claiming this that and the other because their kids  "ARE DIFFERENT " NOT ...than others the parents don't really want the kids but they are a good meal ticket..
