i have had brilliant dealings with the police so far. they have been pollite as have i to them calling each one sir etc.
i have been stopped a mere 3 times.
once because the officer thought i was a bit young to be driving (just passed my test and was 1 month after my 17th birthday  :drool:)
once because my rear brake light was broken (he was very nice to me, it was a sunday night and i was on my way to school and i told him this and he said school on a sunday, you have it tough! we had a nice little chat)
once because my number plate was too dirty  :oops: (he told me it ususually would be a £30 fine but he let me off :clap:)

v. nice people the ones ive met.

We all have bad days; things don't always go right but there is no excuse for slagging people (a huge number of people at that) because of your bad day.

They always say if you are in a bad mood you should save an Email in draft and look at it later; to not do that on an open Internet forum is just immature.

I had the fortune to police an anti war demo in Norwich City Centre in 2003. The usual lefty claptrap was spewed forth, but I was very pleased to see a group of young men, aged in mid 20's give the protestors a dressing down and explain to them that Saddam was not quite the angel they thought he was. I believe they were from the Dragoons regiment based nearby.
The protestors didn't like the idea that someone would dare disagree with them and became very aggresive, which I found ironic as they were peace protestors.
The gobby unwashed were arrested for Breach of the Peace.

Myself and others on here work for the police  :-$ but are not police officers or PCSO's and i understand this may be difficult to explain but until you listen to a police radio and hear the level of stress and abuse that todays officers have to deal with and ignore i find it very hard to believe that anyone would want to join the force

It's easy to say cut there wages just because you have not had anyone turn up in 10 hours but back to the fact what was your problem and do you know what those officers have had to do in the last 10 hours you called on a Friday night one of the most busiest nights of the week and you expect them there in a drop of a hat have you been out on a Friday night or seen on TV ( street crime ) etc one drunk  fool that HAS to be locked up for the night to protect him/her self from harming themself or others will take at lease 1 hour to process WHEN they get them back to the nick

And as for hoax's calls standard sentence =month inside teach them a lesson

go around to a mothers house and tell them that there 10y old son/daughter was killed crossing the road and that they are not able to see the body or say goodbye because the lorry parked on there face and now they are unrecognizable
could YOU pick pieces of a body up from a train line then go and inform the family of what happened i really don't think i could and especially not for the wages these PEOPLE are on

In my job (an A&E unit), I hear quite a lot over the Police radio when the Officers bring in an 'In Custody' for treatment, or come to interview a RTI victim.
Some of the jobs that are heard have to be believed!
I reckon they certainly have a hard-time with some of the numptys they have to deal with

We joke about Full Moons bringing the Loonies out, and it defianately seems that way, but for the 'Thin Blue Line', everyday's a Full Moon!!

I, for one, could not be the person who has to walk up that garden path & knock on the door.

i fully support the police and armed forces and dr's and nurses.

its the courts that are a pain in the arse.

why they hell cant crooks be named, even if the scrotes are under age, they are crooks name and shame.
sentences should be made harder.
get the prisoners out of the jails and doing public service, like cleaning graffiti off walls, litter picking, decorating oap homes, something useful not just sitting in jail watching the telly.

Yes and no.
It is tools of the trade and he needs to know but just 'having a go' is not the way to do it. Had he put the Blues & Two's on things would have been different (hopefully); then everybody expects it rather than thinking it's another nutter on the road.

It should have been disciplinary rater than criminal though.

not long, but long enough to see the horrors of the IRA. I was in the RAF.

What I meant to say was, You don’t hear people posting anti armed forces messages on this forum, and quiet rightly, The armed forces are doing a bloody marvellous job under crap conditions, but it seems so easy to come on line anonymously and slag off the police. I for one are fed up with it. If you have an issue with the police take it up with the police force in question, if you are not going to do that then button it.

I went on a course at Frimley in January and we were specifically told in our orders that under no circumstances was uniform to be worn off the camp, nor for traveling in!

Its all to easy for people to mouth of these days and just not follow it up with some hardend actions I.E doing something about it.... I for one can not speak highly enough of our local police... as some people had read SWMBO was followed home and the local plod couldnt do enough, even poping round today, some 2 weeks later just to check if things were O.K......they do a hard job!

I agree we need more Police, PCSO's and Police staff, but in reality we have to make do with what we have got.

Then why not change the law to give the innocenty party more rights to protect themselves and their property??

I do agree with testing the vehicles when new and keeping the skills up. But It really annoys me when they use blue lights to jump traffic lights, or just drive fast in built up areas just because they think they can. (obviously not including shouts!).

Hummm, like the two unmarked Skoda's the other morning on the A27 at Park Gate, Black one's (56 ACU) driver hooning it, Silver one being driven in a considerate and sensible way...
Still with the MET causing crashes near Winchester, and some MET or BTP instructor taking a car load through Fareham deciding he can't wait for the North Hill traffic lights and turning the lights and sound on making the officer under instruction go down the middle forcing traffic both sides onto the pavement really doesn't help the local force's situation and relationship with their public!
