Hi , on my mates disco ( 300 tdi ) the rear axle seems to have moved back on the off side, the torsion bar / bushes seem all ok, can't way it up, anyone any ideas?

Try turning the link arm lower bolt at the axle - if the axle wants to move as you turn the bolt its cos the bolt is bent or it has a really big 'shoulder' worn in it and wasn't changed last time the bush was knackered and changed........... Seen it before at work but only the once with the bent bolt so its a long shot..........
Other than that it could be a number of misaligned bits of the chassis - has it taken a knock or been bashed about off-road?

Bent chassis, axle bracket, loose or knackered bushes, bent axle. Does it move forwards under acceleration?
