Arche Extensions..Best Way To fit Them
« on: March 11, 2008, 19:47:44 »
Hi all, I am sure this has been covered a million times before but I cant find the thread...So what is the best way to fit the plastic extended arches to a disco 1 3 door please...I have no template and was just going to offer them up, draw round them, then cut just under the line I had drawn...

when i did mine i used a jigsaw for 90% of it and a 1mm wide cutting disc for the awkward bits and a cordless recipertating saw (spelt wrong) which was ideal for the plastics but i guess i could of used a jigsaw for that :D

How i did mine was.....

I offered up the arches and got them level and in line then got my cordless drill and marked each hole that needed drilling, then i marked 15mm down with a marker and joined them up. I cut it with a 4 1/2" grinder with a super thin blade.

Worked a treat on mine

Once i have got my dads laptop (built in infra red,my bluetooth thing dont work with vista) i will post them up.

All my work is done on the drive or back yard!!!

here is a couple of pics before and after, you can see how silly the standard tyres look, then you can see how the proper ones look before I cut the arches, I will add more pics when I have transfered them to laptop.
