As usual they are going to hit the wrong people with the wrong amounts :(

They should be ENCOURAGING large 7-seaters etc, and ENCOURAGING car sharing. But no, they want us all in Smart cars (2 seaters) - how does that help a family with 2 kids (or more?) - 1 parent + child in one, 1 parent + child in another? MORE cars for LESS people?! Come on ..... that will aid congestion, but only by increasing it :(

Our Smart Car:

A Stunner I Know

£35 A Year To Tax.

Usually Running At 100% Seating Capacity.

And With It Being Modified And Running Circa 76bhp From 55bhp Standard, With The Janspeed Stealth Exhaust And SW-Exclusive Sport Air Filter I Can Get About 25mpg If I Really Try

As You Say, Hitting The Wrong People / Cars?

Oh and I've just heard that they are scrapping the fuel duty relief on biofuels in 2010, we have to vote them out NOW.

Complete and utter proof that this is not a party with green credentials, they are the emelder marcos of british gov't, squandering, incompetant idiots.

I agree, they don't give a toss about the environment.

I feels so frustrated since Labour have been in power, why anybody would vote them I don't know............VOTE THEM OUT ONCE & FOR ALL!

It says very clearly in that direct.gov link that pre-2001 vehicles won't be hit by the changes. We just have to pay £185 a year to use roads that are worse than some greenlanes I've driven...

It also says that cars after 2001 depending on emissions should be cheaper for tax, We have a little 1.2 Corsa van 02 plate & its the same to tax as my RRC & BMW 740i?

We got the tax renewal the other day, £99 for six months. Something is not right there.

If it wasnt for all the greenies jumping on the bandwagon the government wouldnt be able to use  "the environment" as another excuse to tax us more. I have 2 questions
1-if everyone who drove gas guzzling cars sold them and bought sinclair C5s how much would the government loose in revenue, and what would they tax us all on then?

2-I thought that newer cars were much more efficient than older ones, therefore shouldnt we be encouraged to buy newer cars not older ones

basically this country is f***** and the government wont be happy until we are a third world country.I was brought up being taught that britain was a "free country"HA!!.Whats free about it,work hard, try to get enough money to buy the nice things we want only to be taxed to death on owt worth having and lectured by easily led sheep for spending my own money on what i want

Seriously considering packing up work and living off the handouts,if i cant buy what-i may as well?
Rant Over ;) now thinking of a happy place
WOOOSAAAAH
