Road legal Quads..
« on: March 14, 2008, 22:28:57 »
Thinking of getting one for playing and commuting, anyone on here got one??

I'm very tempted by the cheap chinese models  :-k are they really that bad?? or the other option would be a Yamaha 660 Raptor, but this wouldn't be new, it would be 4/5 years old and more money..  :embarrassed: would it be worth the extra ..... ?

Thanks.

go for the yam ...

the cheap ones have snap off bolts holding the things together so you can't strip them to fix them .and if you drill the bolts out you can't get the parts anyway

My mate owns a bike shop and they have a lock up full of cheap imports that have broken and the owners have left them there to be fixed but nobody can get them apart or get the parts...Stick to brand names ...

with the chinky ones expect to yet a year out of it then get no money back. suddenly that 5 yr old raptor that will hold its value looks a lot better!

a friend at work has a tgb blade 250 its abou a year old n costs around £2500 but its built realy good only down side is being no diff so it scrubs the tyres but its easy to get sideways

yamaha are usualy very good and worth the extra few quid and the 660 raptor is realy quick . . . i think the chineese quad engins arnt as good as a better model

They just look so scary on the road. More like they are going to throw you off rather than go around a corner.

I would agree with with that; I think the road legal idea is to 'get it there' rather than get you there; not really something for commuting.
