Rear Axle leak ?
« on: March 15, 2008, 19:57:32 »
I have EP90 diff oil running down the inside of the L/hand brake disc on the rear axle of my 90.

So which seal do I need - FTC5268 Stub Axle Seal or FTC4785 Hub Seal.

Botseals need swapping, the bearings need regreasing and the axle breather needs stripping and cleaning out.

Ask me how I know

If i were you i would get both seals,a set of bearings,a few lock washers for stock also some paper gaskets, pound to a penny you'll need something you weren't expecting.

I would also remove and check that the breather is completely clear of crud - they can easily block up and force seals to go prematurely.

Pretty sure that it came off the 1996 Defender that was the engine donor.
