I can't remember the Latin phrase off hand, but the translation is somewhere along the lines of 'Let the buyer beware'.
In true Anglo Saxon, the translation would be 'Sod off'.
Tell him to poke it! If he wants a something with a warranty, buy it from a dealer.

So he bought an engine with no fuel pump, axles and shell for £100 :-k  Have i got that right?  if so he was a fool to assume they even worked, a TDi has to be worth that after it's blown up

lol, how they going for you mate, ive used my new tyres once since i put them on, wheel bearings, dodgy caliper, then a prop, now the cambelt is been changed,
i cant belive this bloke, i really think he thinks il give it back, my mate said he will give £100 for engine and axles, he will make more breaking them,
but it did sound like a threat the way he said just so he knows where he stands,

Knows where he stands? ask him what planet that might be then

One guy in the wanted has just payed £70 for an axle with no diff in it, which is probaly fair TBH, so I think the guy ripped you off.

I'd be surprised if he's still got all the bits you sold him anyway.

In this situation i think i would give him his £100, take the disco, sort the engine (even if i had to buy another engine) all super fast, then drive it round to his house the day after and say the fuel filter was clogged and ive just sold it on ebay for £800

I did something like that with an eBay pug 106d, listed as good, but had knackered cogbox..... left feedback saying how cool and quiet and nice to drive it was and such a bargain, but that the seller could have told me that there was a loose bracket that rattled sometimes..... the reply/email was amusing...

I would just turn around to the chap saying how do you know and how can he prove that he hasnt gone and changed various bits on the engine or tweeked the engine since you sold it to him. Let him prove he hasn't fiddled with it.

Even breakers yards only give between 1 / 3 months guarantee, depending on if they have another unit to swap. Just tell him to turn round when he is talking to you, as hes clearly talking out his a*** and you can,t hear him through his underpants.

I`d say he got a good enough deal to start with!

i`d happily give you £100 for it as a non-runner... and i`d run off with it too!

scrap value = £80/tone (based on light iron) gives you nigh on £160....

if you strip it, sell what you can, and weigh in the rest (aluminium, wire, scrap iron) you`d get your money back easily.. with profit to buy another non-runner!

tell him he failed to apply for an extended warrenty, at £100/year... but he can buy it now for £150!

seriously, how many dealers sell cars with more than 3 mths warrenty?

next time he rings just stop him mid-speach and say "can i talk to your carer please?" lol, `tard

I've just re-read this, he got the shell as well as the axles and engine? and he wants a refund?

He wants his bumps felt, as said he's got more than £100 in cash sat there, give him his money back and tow it into a breaker's just to spite him. you'll walk out in profit.
