any idea if they are metric or imperial? Just bought myself a flare tool after todays escapade and now need pipe and nuts but not sure which the disco uses (1990 200 tdi non-abs)
anyone know?

If memory serves correctly AF brake nuts were repalced by Metric in the early seventies, around 1972 I believe, if a 1990 vehicle had AF brake nuts on it would be ............. most surprising :roll:

not entirely...
remember that the Series Three was still in production in 1985, and whilst it had, by and large gone metric at that point this is the solihull mob we're talking about.. Late series and early 90/110 models were a complete mismass of parts, for an old set of parts to have ended up on the production line for the Disco would hardly suprise me, especially as it's a Montego that's put on weight...
so they *should* be metric... but then again, they *should* also not fall apart when they reach the end of the production line :)

Again, from memory the AF Nuts were more rounded where the pipe enters and the metric one's had more squared off shoulders :-

Put money on Metric. There are some things that got lef and never put right, and don't think this is just a Solihull thing, but the brakes are not something that can be ignored, like on emissions the type approval did not allow blissful ignorance of the changing regulations.
