fancy my dads???

lol its not for sale but he does build custom vehicles for a living. took him four years to build that just on every other sunday.

but for awt half decent you are talking big money. i can reccomend geordie paul at duksville speedshop but for one of his rods its like £60,000.

all i can say is DONT BUY ANYTHING YET.

if you dont know where to look then you deffinitly dont know enough to buy one lol. get into the scene a bit, join ruffrodders.com, go to billing, get to know the difference between a deuce and a 34 and then you will get an idea of what you want. the worst thing you can do is buy summot and then find out you prefer somthing else. theres just so much out there that you have to know the scene before you can decide what you want.

hmmm 4 seater is a tough one then (in this country anyway) as not many people bother building or importing the sedans, you will find a couple if you take your time but might have to settle for somthing thats not quite what you want.

subscribe to custom car magasine, always plenty for sale in there.

Have you thought about a led sled or summot like that? much more practical if you are after seats, often cheaper as well.

Ill bet it goes for an absolute bargain price that.

That's great. what a beastie, but a bit big to make into a street racer surely??

Just imagine, you could convert it into a 'MonkeeMobile'

The Model B is almost John Milners car, but not quite, as that was a 5-window

It's still got to be one of the coolest film cars. Ever!

see i hate milners coupe, it just looks a bit turd to me, the 5 windows just dont look the part.

oh and you would think its impossible to get tired of people telling you 'theres a black 55 chevy looking for you!' wouldnt ya??? WRONG!

its pretty cool though, although not as practical to drive as is possible. oh and its never been washed and it lives outside like real hot rods should!!!!

it looks cool,

hot rods arent really about speed anymore, its about having an old car thats cool, that you use as often as you can come rain or shine. The lower the better.

A guy who goes to the leeds cruise has a 50's pick up that must be a £30k truck and its got a transit diesel engine in it. its fantastic cos it means he can drive to work in it.

I know it's probably more of a cruiser, but the 'street-racer' remark was an off-the-cuff phrase.

Bar my favourite muscle cars (68 Mustang 390GT, 69 Charger, 70 Challenger, Superbird, GTO, etc....), I think I'd like a 55 Nomad, or a 53/64 Nova

Perhaps so, but I'd hazard a guess that it's what most cinema/tv watching people first saw as a 'Hot-Rod'

Yes, I know, the 1980's  'Top of The Pops' generation probably saw the 34 Ford in the ZZ Top videos before it ;)

The Pharoahs Mercury was also cool, Brian Setzer (of Stray Cats fame) bought that in the mid 80's, I believe it featured in the 'I Won't Stand In Your Way' (a 'doo-wop' track) & 'Hot Rod Gang' videos

I guess you know that the '55 was also the car in 'Two Lane Blacktop'??, but of course you did
And what an odd film that was :-k

this 63 'rings the bell'

Digressing;

I know I've mentioned it before, but are Rods like (Nick Butlers) 'Andromeda' & 'Revenge' still around on the show circuit?

The Opel Rekord coupe is nice on the 'Street Cars' page, as is the Zodiac (dropping a Forc 302/351 in a Zody/Zephyr used to be 'the done thing')

Now, I could easily fall in love with the 'Zapriac'
