Hope it's done no damage.  Neat trcik though as a derv pump shouldn't fit and unleaded car.

Hope you are writing her instructions and diagrams to sort it out, get her to do it then she wont do it again. Also plaster the car in post it notes stating what fuel to use.

I used to run the fleet of cars for a company I worked for, and got fed up with petrol going into diesel cars

(generally they were more modern cars, so the diesel pump wouldn't go into the petrol filler, so no worries that way!)

I went to a local car factors, and bought a load of fuel identifier stickers, and stuck them above the filler cap, so there was no excuse.

The other bit I managed to get done, was on the fuel cards we used! I set them up as fuel specific, so if you did get it wrong, then you also got to pay for the fuel!! Amazing how ell that worked!

i,ve got quite alot of mileage(unlike the polo) out of her embarrassment  and am going to fit decals to the car as well
she has to go and put diesel in the landy now as its passed its mot so she can use that, i,ve told her if she rings me and says "i,ve put petrol in" she can pack a bag

the thing i do with my truck and used to do with my old 1988 polo was when customers put petrol in there Diesels i would chuck it in and fill the tank full of petrol to make a petrol / weak diesel mix and they ran as sweet as a nut, so the best is to fill the tank full of petrol and run it :police:

The rubber seals etc in the carb might get eaten a bit by the diesel.
