I'm not aware that the colour tells you much other than who made them, but I might be wrong as i don't often buy springs.

Do you want a lift?

I've a set of plus 2" yellow springs I think are britpart and they cost the guy I got them from £100 plus VAT for 4.

Pro Comp are about £34 each now :-k

Or fit lowered shock turrets, £40 a pair, ish for the front, plus some from Wizard on the back (other brands are available).

If you want it stock then Bilstein/DEcARBON/pro-comp/britpart/Monroe in descending priceorder are all good, monroe a little more foad freindly.  I like all of them TBH, I'm running Britpart Cellular on the LSE at the moment, they are nice and a good price I think.

Then uprated Britpart springs and ProComp or DeCarbon shocks in plus 2" or plus 3" on the back (same price).  Tim's had his on for ages and they are still level, he used to use it every day.

i'm just concerned that i've had britpart parts before and some very reliable and still work after a good couple years but other parts are a bit dodgy and last a couple of weeks. just need to make sure people are satisfied with the britpart springs in order for me to get them. it's either that or get a new cd player for the disco.... i'm still inbetween the two at the moment

A relatively new one on the market is Terrafirma! they have been advertised through the landy mags recently, for £200 a set of four including shocks! so a reasonable price!

Yep, I've got a set, but wish I hadn't bothered!! Just received pro-comps shocks today (£30.55 each inc VAT from Paddocks) to replace the shocks in the Terrafirma kit.  They've only been on about 6 weeks, and in themselves are OK, but they're standard length (don't do longer ones), and seriously restrict articulation off-road due to the short length (and I don't really do anything too silly in mine, but its noticable!).  Rear springs are also very very firm, 'crashy' ride over bumps (back end jumps over speed bumps, even in 2nd gear just above tick-over!! ) - makes me wince every time!!  Front isn't too firm, but only gave a 1 inch lift!  So I guess I got what I paid for... not a lot!!

I know plenty of people with Britpart or Bearmach springs and Pro-comp shocks and are happy with them.  I think they do the springs in off-road and HD variety... apparently the off-road variety are very soft and can sag if used as a daily driver?  Kits seem to be about £220 all-in... if I chose again it'd be what I'd go for!! (again, Paddocks seem about the cheapest usually).

Cheers,
Nat

thanks for that handy advice, least if anyone like me is looking for the same they also know which ones to go for too!
will have to wait for the 2" lift now though as I think it needs a bit of work before putting it in for an MOT  :( forgot it was coming up... but hopefully wont be too long!!  :)
