Grand Vitara EGR Valve, someone please help...
« on: March 29, 2008, 09:12:54 »
Hi guys,

For a while now my engine management light has been on. Suitable running but occasional problems under light throttle when warmed up.

Had it into a garrage for diagnosis and they highlighted Exhaust Gas recirculation Valve non functional and oxygen sensor non working.

The garage said to replace the egr valve first and then see if the oxy sensor was indeed broken or unable to wrk due to unsuitable combustion gasses etc.

Went to suzuki for an EGR valve for my 2003 GV 1.6 and they want £180.00

Surelly i have some other options. I phoned a couple of places however they said main stealer part only.

Anyone got any ideas, Please.......

Thanks

Had a similar encounter this week with my main stealer, i wanted a new ignition module for my Vit, response being sure, no problem that will £311+vat.

After i regained the ability to speak, i did a google search and came across a 4x4 breaker called EQUICAR and bought a complete dizzy for £30 +postage.

I also noticed on there website they were breaking several GV's including petrol & diesel.
Give them a go it may save you a fortune.

If its anything like the freelander one just take it off and give it a clean with carb cleaner and a bottle brush i have done this a couple of times......and it works.
