300 TDI More Power
« on: March 30, 2008, 17:47:56 »
Same old story, I use it for towing and need a bit more power from it. My last one I had a bigger intercooler put on, straight through exhaust and K&N filter but was not that impressed.

Any thoughts, tips or ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Yes turn the power screw 2 full turns and diagram 45 degree's. But don't expected it to be good on fuel . The ect temp will rise to a higher temp

Get in touch with porny on here. I here he works wonders with the tdi's ( IRD DEVELPOMENTS)

Theres a really good post about tweaking the turbo and fueling that contains a how to and pictures on here somewhere, have a search for it. Cant remember who posted it but I think it was one of the "Regulars". Anyone else recall?

Yeah I thought 2 turns sounded extreme. Is the srew in question the one on the back with a plastic shield around it?

done both mine , just tweekd the pump and removed the cat, the smoke screw 1/4 turn clockwise the diaphram under it about the same you may have to back it off a little iff it smokes too much, under the diaphram is a star screw alter that about a 1/4 clockwise too, mark everything so you can turn it back iff you need too. have done a freinds defender too he had a larger intercooler and pleased with it. just remember iff it smokes.  smoke = unburnt fuell = higher e.g.t.   so be carfull and dont over do things. after all its a landy,  they aint designed for speed....alan
